Fashion Week!

Sissies-

My favorite distraction is here. NY Fashion Week! I could spend hours upon hours drooling over all of the latest and greatest looks that hit the runway. One of my personal favorites this time around was Jenni Kayne. She describes this show as "country club chic with a hint of athleticism."

What do you think?

I will be using these images as inspiration when Spring shopping comes around!

Adorable Apartment

Sissies,

Have you read the new Lonny yet? I loved the piece they did on Lisa Stasiulewiez, the style editor for Amazon.com. In my opinion her apartment is an amazing example of a well decorated city space. Not to mention she has done it with affordable brands, which is even more inspiring!

I wonder if she will come and help me redecorate?

R-O-C-K In the USA

Sissies-

While perusing Vogue.com I came across Balmain 2012 Resort collection and fell in love with the their interpretation of Rocker Glam. Here are the looks that I love, they are edgy but still have just the right amount of femininity mixed in....

Love the sequin jacket!

Glitter tuxedo pant! Elvis would be so proud ;)

I really love the color Mint right now and here it softens the glam look

Now I just need a place to wear all of these fun looks. Vegas anyone?

Frienship Bracelets Revisited

Sissies-

Remember how I posted about how friendship bracelets were making a comeback? Well, my friend and I bought a few while we were out shopping the other week. We both were sporting our look on Friday night!

Chalk it up to good taste

Hi sisters,
Have I told you about my friend Dana yet? She is a graphic designer and custom chalk letterer who's been getting a lot of blog love lately. The image above is from her interview in 10 answers; Dana's on the left and the top right picture is an image of our friend's (Amy and Eric) apartment wall around the corner from us. I just found out she has a lettered full page opener in the newly redesigned May issue of Every Day with Rachel Ray!

Dana is just as endearing and engaging as her art, I'm so excited for her!

Check out her 10 answers interview here.

And her interview on the ByandBy along with an amazing video detailing how she does all of this by hand!

As well as her features on Martha Stewart, Apartment Therapy, and 100layer cake.

Put a Bird on it

Sisters,
You know I have a design obsession with all things bird. Megan you gave me the beautiful plates above that I mix and match with some scalloped yellow plates I found at a thrift store. And Christina you designed my wedding programs with those lovely vintage bird images. So... you both not only know of this addiction, you enable it.

And you also know how much I hate real birds. They terrify me. Which is why I laughed for a good 10 minutes after I saw this sketch on Portlandia....

Itch to Switch

Sissies-
I have the itch to switch up my living room. See below and tell me what you think! As you can see I centered the room around our current couch and the original artwork from Matthew's Grandma.

I tried to keep everything pretty affordable so that this could be something that I can ACTUALLY do.

I'll take some flowers with my coffee

Sisters,
My friend Amy made these sweet little flower "pots" to put on her table for our Saturday brunch. Aren't they cute? It's so easy; she just took an old coffee can, spray painted it a matt white color, and arranged some spring flowers. Even those of us that are craft challenged can do this!

Love from NYC :)
